Warm-Weather Dresses

In many parts of the country, the weather is finally starting to warm up. There will still be a few “cold snaps,” but for the most part, the bitter cold of winter is over. That means you can start wearing all those beautiful womens dresses that are fashionable this spring and summer. Here’s a look at some of the dress designs for the warm weather.

Maxi Dresses

One of the popular trends for women’s dresses this spring and summer are maxi dresses. If you are old enough to remember the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, you probably remember these. They definitely covered your ankles, and some even dragged the floor.

The maxis for spring and summer will either just skim the top of your feet so that you won’t be tripping over them, or they too, may be dragging the floor. If yours is very long, simply add a pair of heels in a height that will still make walking comfortable but will also help you raise the hemline off the floor a bit.

Lace

Some women’s dresses, including maxi dresses as well as skirt and top ensembles, will be made entirely of, or at least have a good deal of, lace material. Lace material is very feminine looking, and can make any outfit look dressier.  Choose lace that has been strongly woven. It will last and look better longer. How much skin you want to show through the lace holes is up to you, so choose the sizes accordingly.

Feminine Silhouettes

Thank the popular TV show “Mad Men” for bringing back feminine silhouettes. The waist-nipping, full-skirted look is back with a vengeance. The upside to this: most women can pull this look off, because cinching the waist automatically makes you look trimmer.  Pick the style that’s right for you for your spring/summer women’s dresses selection and get ready to feel cool and breezy all throughout the warmer days.
