A clash of colors, a collision of styles: patterns cling to you with unfortunate persistence. Geometric shapes battle with bold florals; horizontal stripes challenge their vertical counterparts; and the result is a look that lacks all good sense. You’re drenched in fashion (and it simply doesn’t flatter).

Patterns are essential to crafting outfits. They offer visual interest, texture and depth — allowing clothing to spark interest instead of yawns. Choosing more than one style, however, often proves too challenging for would-be fashionistas. Designs contradict each other: overwhelming any figure and causing cringes.

It’s imperative that all shoppers – including you — recognize the need for restraint. Blending patterns requires moderation: with one meant to dominate and all others to complement. There must be a clear focus, with secondary designs offering muted colors and shapes.

Neutral patterns are necessary. These represent textures that seem solid from a distance, their depths indistinguishable until viewed closely. Items like tweed or houndstooth offer relief. They match any style without overwhelming it. All other patterns can be used with them — with these offering subtle hints of variety and nothing more.

The value of neutral patterns is immense: allowing individuals to create outfits that delight, instead of offending strangers with too many bursts of color. These become the cornerstones of entire wardrobes and move from season to season. Their rewards are many.

It’s vital therefore to select neutrals. They tame outfits, allowing them to appear polished rather than erratic — and that’s what every style maven wants.

For most women the day of their wedding is thought of as the most important day of their life. It is when they wish to look and feel their best and they want everything to look and be perfect. But from choosing wedding rings to flowers to caterers and location the process of deciding on every minuscule detail can be overwhelming even to the most hardened of shoppers. One of the most frustrating and/or exhilarating endeavors is picking out the wedding fashions.

When considering your bridal fashions the most important aspect is always the bride’s dress. This is a huge focal point of any wedding. The key to picking out the perfect dress for your wedding day is to find the dress that you will love fifty years from now. Many women get preoccupied with what is fashionable at the moment. Whether it be one shouldered billowing chiffon or strapless empire-wasted silhouettes, if you are not comfortable with them or don’t adore them then more than likely it is not the wedding dress for you. While many dresses may seem beautiful you must always play to your strengths so that you feel supremely confident and as beautiful as ever when you walk down the aisle in your wedding gown.

While finding the perfect wedding dress is the most crucial fashion decision a wedding will have the bridal fashions can be just as important. The bridal fashions are a representation of the bride and grooms style so when considering brides maid dresses the two most important factors are they style and color theme of the wedding. While the bridesmaid dresses should not match the table cloth they should have some representation of the wedding colors. As for the style of the bridal fashion it is key is to stay in the same style as the wedding dress. If the dress is contemporary then the bridal fashion should not be traditional and vice versa.

Accessories: Top to Bottom

Accessories are the type of thing made for any part of the body. As much as they make an outfit adorable, you can mix, match, and have fun with them. Accessories can be worn top to bottom.

There are plenty of accessories you can add to your hair. A headband, clip, flower, hat, you name it! A hair accessory will draw attention to a cute up do or even when your hair is down. If you want a new hairdo to stand out, try adding an accessory such as a cute headband or barrette to your hair.

Around your neck you can wear necklaces or scarves. Necklaces will draw attention to your upper body, namely your chest and your face. Scarves can be worn to add color to a dull outfit, or just as a cute piece.

On your hands you can add jewelry such as bracelets and rings. There are unlimited bracelets designs in which you can choose from that can add to an outfit. Rings aren’t as noticeable, but they will add a touch to your outfit that you will fail to have without it.

Around your waist, try wearing a cute belt. Plain belts can pull off as drawing attention, depending on your outfit, but belts with designs are more noticeable. Belts will draw attention to your hips and lower body.

It may not be considered an accessory, but socks can help draw attention to your lower body. This usually only works when you aren’t wearing long pants and are able to see your socks. Try wearing bright colored socks or ones with cute designs to get noticed. Don’t be afraid of crazy socks.

Don’t try to draw attention to every part of your body with accessories. If you have more accessories that are drawing attention to your upper body, try to stray away from drawing attention to your lower body also. If you want to draw attention to your lower body, you may try a cute belt with fewer accessories up top. It’s okay to have accessories all over, but avoid wearing flashy accessories everywhere.

Accessories are a cheap, easy way to add to any outfit. You can add a wide range of accessories from jewelry to handbags to belts and hairpieces. You can buy accessories that will go well with almost any outfit and mix and match every day. Accessories are fun and are more attractive to the eye.

One cheap accessory idea is a simple pair of earrings. A simple pair of earrings go with any outfit. When you buy earrings, they usually come with several different pairs sold together, so you can get several pairs of earrings to mix and match in one purchase. Jewelry is a great accessory and it doesn’t have to be just a simple pair of earrings. Rings, necklaces, and bracelets add to an outfit also.

Another idea is an attractive belt. You can wear a belt with any pair of jeans, and even with other pants such as khakis. A flamboyant tie tack makes for an interesting conversation starter which makes them perfect for parties where you want to meet new people.
Selecting accessories to keep clothing updated usually requires just using a little common sense and pick accessories that match what other people will be wearing and then adding a little personality twist to the outfit.

Build an Earring Wardrobe and Be Ready at All Times

Add drama to an outfit by purchasing inexpensive jewelry pieces such as earrings. These can enhance and even change the entire style of an outfit. A few basic styles of earrings will create and entire wardrobe. Be sure to add in a few novelty earrings as well for times when you want to be fun and start light hearted conversations.
Purchase three or four pairs of earrings that are high quality. You don’t have to purchase them all at one time but make an effort to build this important foundation a soon as possible. A diamond earring pair in a simple setting or a simple pear stud earring set will go with almost any outfit for formal or business wear. These three or four pair will be worn often and you will want them to make a good impression.
Add hoop earrings that are made from gold and silver. These are generally inexpensive and go with almost all outfits. The hoop look adds a touch of drama without being dominate. Remember to consider your height when purchasing hoops. Short people should choose smaller hoops. Taller people can wear bigger hoops.
Purchase a few pairs of novelty earrings. These can dangle and be any style that shows your unique personality. Antique malls and craft stores often have styles that are not readily available in the mass markets so fewer people will have a pair just like yours. These cannot be worn as often because they will start to look tired. However, selecting just the right time to wear them will make you look like a fun and interesting person. Mix and Match Classic Clothing to Build a Wardrobe

Stretch your dollar by stretching your wardrobe and making the articles in it accommodate more than one occasion. Accessories help clothing take on different looks for different occasions. You can even go from afternoon to evening simply by changing out the accessories you wear with an outfit. Update your older clothing by adding some modern accessories. Classic white button downs and pencil skirt never go out of style but they do need to be refreshed with each season.
To get the most out of the wardrobe, mix and match the items that make up the closet collection. A few pieces can change to go with other pieces to create many looks. Take out everything from the closet that is clutter. If the dress, skirt, or blouse doesn’t fit, get rid of it. Keep anything that flatters your body. Get rid of everything that you haven’t worn in the last six months.
Get the closet organized and place the clothing pieces into categories. A simple and mundane as this sounds, it really will improve your ability to mix and match the wardrobe. Organize all similar colors together. Then sort them by clothing type such as skirts, blouses and pants.
Only buy clothing items that belong to colors that can interchange with other items in your wardrobe. Sticking to black, navy or tan never goes out of style. At least twenty outfits can be built from nine pieces of clothing that are purchased with interchanging in mind. As a general rule of thumb, each new item should work with no less than two existing closet items. Make a monthly budget for clothing and stick to it. This will be easy if you plan ahead. Always purchase quality items rather than more items. A well made garment will fit better, look better and last much longer than a cheaper version. Because you are interchanging, each item will be used more higher costs for higher quality is justified.
